You Do You (Scripture Sunday)

For what credit is it if,  when you are beaten for your faults,  you take it patiently?  But when you do good and suffer,  if you take it patiently,  this is commendable before God.

1 Peter 2:20

Hope important is this message?! Ya,  of course you should treasure your punishment when you do wrong.  But if you have done no wrong and you are being punished… turn the other cheek. Take it. Sure you have done no wrong, but the punishment is not a reflection on you,  or who you are as a person. It reflects badly on those who allow the punishment,  or carry it out themselves.  You have done no wrong,  continue to do so. Be patient,  it will get better with time,  and you will be a stronger,  better person for it.

This is a lesson I’m working on in my own life. I’m going to do me,  and not let the others opinion of my work or capabilities gold me back.

Family Friday

Josh
Haven’t really seen much of this working fool lately. But as always,  l love him like crazy and his never ending support means so much.  He has helped me through a few tough things this past week,  and backs me entirely about going to school.

Allason
As always,  saving our butts. Once we pay her she’ll be able to but the I phone she wants.  I love watching her with the kids,  she is such a great sister.

Walker
Apparently I was misinformed last week.  He did NOT get the zombie job,  but he is applying at the Firehouse restaurant.  He is really into tricks and decks of cards,  and his birthday dinner this week is going to be tons of different appetizers.

Madison
Haven’t really seen Maddie aside from Sunday,  but she is enjoying school in Melba. Still loves to play outside, and when she is inside she spends most of her time in her room singing karaoke.

Zander
This kid cracks me up on a daily basis.  The other day he made the strangest face and then goes, ” look mom!  I’m happy! ” and then made the face again.  And then he took the fly scatter to “kill them flies”, but when he hit one he dropped the fly swatter, ran to the fly and started apologizing. He then told me he didn’t want to kill the flies anymore. Getting a little better with the potty.

Kyrie
I’m sure non parents don’t get me always talking about the potty, but she went poop on the potty three times this week!!! Right now she isn’t feeling the best, and has a cough with a runny noise,  but she is still using the potty. She has a fat lip. I wasn’t here when it happened,  but when I came home she showed it to me and told me she ran into a wall. Still doing great with her colors, too.

Me
Going in next Thursday to get my classes signed up and fill out my FASFA. On the work front I’m excited to teach Niomi schedules. Other then that,  same old.  Not enough sleep and too much to do.

Thankful Thursday

1. I’m so thankful that Kyrie loves using the potty and wearing panties. It makes it much easier to deal with Zander’s resistance.  And,  occasionally,  it inspires him to try again.

2. Coffee. Coffee makes life so much easier to deal with,  and just smelling some can make me instantly feel better. Luckily for me,  my job makes it easy to have coffee every day.

3.  Allason and Christina.  These two have helped tremendously with babysitting.  Knowing the people who watch my kids makes it easier to relax.  It’s nice to not have to add my kids’ safety to my worry list.

Bright Lights by Matchbox Twenty (Tuesday Tunes)

“Bright Lights”

She got out of town on the railway, new york bound
Took all except my name
Another alien on broadway
Well, some things in this world you just can’t change
Some things you can’t see until it gets too late

[Chorus]

Baby, baby, baby when all your love is gone
Who will save me from all I’m up against out in this world
And maybe, maybe, maybe
You’ll find something that’s enough to keep you
But if the bright lights don’t receive you
You should turn yourself around and come on home

I got a hole in me now
I got a scar I can talk about
She keeps a picture of me in her apartment in the city
But some things in this world
Man, they don’t make sense
Some things you don’t leave until they leave you
And then the things that you miss, you say

[Chorus]

Baby, baby, baby when all your love is gone
Who will save me from all I’m up against out in this world
And maybe, maybe, maybe
You’ll find something that’s enough to keep you
But if the bright lights don’t receive you
You should turn yourself around and come on home

Let that city take you in (come on home)
Let that city spit you out (come on home)
Let that city take you down, yeah
For god sakes turn around

[Chorus]

Baby, baby, baby when all your love is gone
Who will save me from all I’m up against out in this world
Yeah well, maybe, maybe, maybe
You’ll find something that’s enough to keep you
But if the bright lights dont receive you
Well, turn yourself around and come on home

Yeah, come on home
Baby, baby, baby, baby
Come on home
Yeah, come on home
Yeah, come on home
Yeah, come on home
Baby, baby, baby, baby
Come on home

Do Not Lose Heart. (Scripture Sunday)

And let us not grow weary while doing good,  for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.

Galatians 6:9

Really been having a tough time with some circumstances in my life,  and they have been bringing me down.  I was recently reminded that it will be okay,  we will make it work. My husband was right,  and the above verse just reinforces that you can’t let the bad get you down. It will pay off eventually,  I just can’t lose heart.

Family Friday

Allason
She has saved our butts with all her babysitting. She also has a job at Linder Farms and is doing school.  This girl is getting older and more mature everyday. 18 in January!

Walker
He has his first job. He is going to be a zombie at Linder Farms, which is a very fitting job for him. He is really into cats and is developing quite the crazy cat shirt collection. Just had his birthday,  we will be celebrating very soon.

Maddie
Oh my,  talk about 13 going on 30. I swear this girl is in such a hurry to grow up. She just turned 13 which means yay for pg13 movies! We’ve enjoyed White Chicks and Pitch Perfect,  here’s to many, many more to watch.

Zander
What a sweet little boy.  He constantly goes,  “hey mom,  I love you!” He’s been really into talking about his emotions lately.  We ask if he wants to go to the park and he responds with,  “thank you!  That makes me so happy. ” And he used the potty yesterday! 🙂

Kyrie
Talk about a potty training princess. This girl is ALL about wearing panties and using the potty.  In fact she had done it so many times,  I had to go buy more potty presents. She is also bring really good with her colors, and has a newfound love of Barney and Minnie Mouse.

Josh
Took on another job as I mentioned in yesterday’s post. I don’t get to see much of him anymore,  but this will all pay off in the end.  So proud of what an amazing father and husband he is.  He still finds time and energy to play with the kids.

Me
Thinking about starting school for a degree in elementary education.  I love working at Mcds, but there is just too much conflict with my supervisor.  I refuse to be a sit down and shut up sort of person.  I have a brain and I will continue to add my own input and ask questions if I don’t understand.  As a result it seems my advancement in this company has come to a stand still.  Always thought I’d make it to the top,  but maybe this is the change I need.

Thankful Thursday

1. My planner. Not only is it cute and functional, but it makes my life so much easier. I am able to plan and organize which is so important when I am balancing so many different schedules at once. Life would be so much more hard to handle without it.

2. Pandora. I’ve been uysing Pandora so much lately. I love that I can listen to music I love without having to buy it. My two favorite choices right now? 90’s Alternative/grunge and Melanie Martinez/Copeland radio. Nothing like some amazing music when you have a long day.

3. My husband. He is so dedicated to our family that he took on a second job as a PRN position. It;s going to mean a lot of long weeks with very little sleep for him, but he is willing to do it so we can get on our feet and give our children a good life. I wish it didn’t mean so much time apart but I love his amazing dedication to us.

(Sorry for any typos I missed. Trying out a keyboard I bought for my tablet.)
