Another picture…seems like I have done a lot of those lately. But this one is being posted REALLY late, when a Mama should already be sleeping cauz her kids don’t believe in sleeping in…. so lazy post for the win!!! (My cheeseball of a daughter, Kyrie, and our pup, Lexi.)
Family: I am very thankful for having time with Josh last night. It seems like we don’t have a lot of that lately.
Life: I am so happy when Zander draws a picture and points out the “trees” and “dinosaurs” and “rocks”and then helps me hang it on the fridge.
Work: I have the next two days off. Who doesn’t love that??
I love the holidays, and even though my kids are not quite to that point where they understand what is coming, I get excited enough for the both of us!!
When I got home from work tonight, Zander was all excited about “the candy”even though I am fairly certain he wasn’t quite sure HOW we were going to be getting the candy. And Kyrie was racing Dad to the door every time we got trick or treaters, so she could wave hi and bye. They were both very impatient when I decided I had to get pictures before they were all tired out.
When we finally got out the door, Dad grabbed the wagon so Kyrie’s little legs wouldn’t get tired. we had a blast going house to house, and Kyrie QUICKLY picked up on how this trick or treat thing worked. She practically though herself outta the wagon at each new house, and even attempted to go inside a few of them. Afterwards she would race back to the wagon, candy bucket firmly in hand, and throw herself right back in.
Zander loved it too, although he deemed the houses with spooky decorations and lights “scary, Mama”. We tried to get them both to say trick or treat… no such luck. Maybe we will master that next year. For the majority of them, Zander just stared with wide eyes as he held out his bucket for candy. And little miss Kyrie was yelling “tank ooo” all the way up to the houses and back to the wagon.
Life with kids may be hectic, but damn if it isn’t rewarding. =)
Today Zander recognized J, H, O, W, X, and Z. Every other letter was an “A” or a “B”.
After that he counted all the way to four! (Although he has developed a new habit of saying something that sounds an awful lot like “Frick” in place of the word “three”. When I try to correct him he smiles and restarts… ‘One, two, frick, four! YAY!!!”)
Then today while I was at the gym getting my Zumba on,he was in the day care area. When I came to get him to go home he ran away as usual. But instead of hiding under the jungle gym like he used to do, he started climbing right to the top!!!! I don’t even know when he learned to do that!!!
This kid is learning so fast, and growing up every time I blink. Ya, proud Mama… but STOP GROWING!!!!!
Zander is obsessed with letters. As of now his favorite letter is H. Here are some pictures of him “writing” the letter H.
Watching him grow is so much fun. Seeing him learn new things, get excited, laugh out loud. He did a dinosaur puzzle the other day and he was so proud of himself. Nothing beats seeing that smile on his face as he says, “Look mama! I did it!!”
Sometimes my kids wear the same jeans two days in a row. Laundry SUCKS!
